Food of my family

My family has an old recipe that I have eaten my whole life and that my mom ate her life before me. We call it hamburger gravy and it is delicious and also one of the simplest things I have ever cooked. It is not plain but just simple, and in this case simple works perfectly. It is actually its simplicity that I love about it most. It is basically broken up pieces of hamburger meat in a white gravy sauce flavored with a lot of spices and eaten with plenty of mashed potatoes and corn or peas. This is how you make it; you start with a package of ground beef from any supermarket and begin cooking it at high heat in a saucepan to brown the meat, then sprinkle flour over all the meat until it is fully covered in it. Once the meat is covered in flour slowly add milk and mix it in as the gravy thickens and also add salt and pepper or any other seasoning, I like to add something spicier like crushed cayenne peppers. I don’t ever use specific measurements with this dish; if you add to much milk just add more flour and if it is to thick add more milk. That’s where the simplicity helps you. I looked for a picture and I found one but I also found that a lot of people call this there family recipe, I had no clue, but I guess that means it is pretty good but I am not as original as I thought. Even though I share my family recipe with many other families I still find it pretty special to mine. I hope that you enjoy the description and you should come by and have it some time, or just make it yourself because it is so easy.
